Union Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Sajid Hussain Turi said 14 Pakistanis died in a boat accident in Italy.
In a press conference in Quetta, Sajid Hussain Turi said that the bodies of 8 out of 14 Pakistanis have reached Pakistan and the body of hockey player Shahida Raza will reach Pakistan in two days.
Sajid Hussain Tori said that efforts are on to make the people of Pakistan go abroad legally, action will be taken against human trafficking agents.
The federal minister said that efforts are being made to solve the problems of the overseas Pakistanis and the decision to occupy the lands of the overseas Pakistanis will be taken soon.
It should be noted that 28 Pakistanis were initially reported dead in a shipwreck accident off the coast of Italy last month. The Pakistani embassy confirmed the death of 28 Pakistanis in the shipwreck incident.
Later, Pakistan’s ambassador to Italy, Ali Javed, said that 20 Pakistanis were on board, of which 16 Pakistanis were rescued, after which Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch confirmed that 4 Pakistanis had died in the sinking.
