It is to be noted that after the incident of stone pelting and firing on the procession on the occasion of Hanuman Jainti in Jahangir Puri area, this morning the police used bulldozers to remove encroachments from the area. However, after the intervention of the Supreme Court, the process of removing the encroachments was postponed. The court will hear the case on Thursday.
The MPOC also questioned why the procession was taken out without permission and how people took part in it with weapons. He said that many people have lost their livelihood due to this action of the Municipal Corporation. This step is wrong and negates the rules and regulations of India. He questioned whether the people targeted were Rohingyas and Bangladeshis living illegally.
