Bengaluru: Indian Football League club Bengaluru announced, on Wednesday, the signing of Spanish midfielder Javi Hernandez for two years, ahead of the 2022-23 season.

The 33-year-old has represented ATK, ATK Mohun Bagan and Odisha FC in the Indian Premier League in recent seasons and is a product of Real Madrid Castilla. Before moving to India in 2019, Hernandez moved to clubs in Spain, Sweden, Romania, Poland and Azerbaijan.

Hernandez started his football career with local team CDF Pizarrales, before moving to UD Salamanca in 2002 and then to Real Madrid Youth Academy at the age of 16, in 2005.
