KARACHI: The Center for Excellence in Journalism at the Institute of Business Administration (CEJ-IBA), in collaboration with the Deutsche Welle Academy (DW), is organizing “Click! Ideaton for Digital News”. The event brings together renowned journalists and online content creators to share their thoughts and experiences through talks, panel discussions, breakout sessions and networking opportunities.
What: The constant evolution and income opportunities of the digital landscape have led people – especially young people – to look for ways to earn a living by producing relevant content that they can then spread through popular social media platforms. While it may be simple to produce content, it’s not always easy to stay relevant in an ever-changing market. Another challenge is sustainability – the ability to earn revenue from the content they produce and continue to do so for the foreseeable future. Trends are always changing, and competitors are constantly developing new ways to expand their reach through social media platforms.
With the amount of competition in the digital world – from both established news and online content creators – start-up organizations and aspiring content creators face an uphill task in establishing, monetizing and maintaining their online presence and relevance. The main goal of this ideathon is to generate ideas and promote debate on the sustainability of digital platforms.
Target audience: Established, entry-level and mid-level news outlets, journalists and digital content creators.
Who: Panelists and speakers include popular digital content creators like Sahar Habib Ghazi, Shehzad Ghiyas, Syed Muzamil, Azaz Syed, Imran Azhar, Ph.D. and Risham Waseem. The Master of Ceremonies is Sabah Bano Malik, and German Ambassador Alfred Granas will open the event.
‘Click! Digital News Ideathon will be held at JS Auditorium on March 20, 2023, 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM at JS Auditorium, IBA City Campus, Saddar, Karachi.
