The makers of Vikram’s next movie Combra, in which he will appear in 20 different avatars, have sealed the release date of their project. Directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu will hit theaters on August 11th.
It is said that Chiyan Vikram played a mathematical genius in this movie. Similarly, cricketer Irrfan Pathan plays the lead role alongside Vikram. Sources say the movie took longer to shoot because the story was not fully written.
Vikram has had a successful year so far with the release of the blockbuster Mahaan, which premiered on Amazon Prime Video on February 10. The gangster drama was well received by both audiences and critics.
This year the versatile actor has several exciting films in the works, and the project that gets the most attention is Cobra. The most interesting aspect of the movie is that Vikram will play 20 characters in the movie. Each role will experience a different renaissance. This is set to beat Kamal Hassan’s record of 10 different roles in the movie Dasavatharam.
The film makers plan to release the film before Independence Day in the second week of August. The film has seen several hiatus in the past two years due to the pandemic.
Vikram and Srinidhi Shetty are set to star in the film, which also features cricketer Irrfan Pathan, Roshan Andrews, Mrinalini, Malayalam actor Lal, Kanika, Padmapriya and Babu Anthony. AR Rahman is set to deliver the music.
As per his other projects, Vikram is playing the role of Aditya Karikalan in Mani Ratnam’s hit Ponniyin Selvan 1 which is set on screen on September 30 this year. According to reports, the actor has also completed the dubbing work of Dhruva Natchathiram. He will soon begin work on the shooting of Xi’an 61 led by Pa Ranjith.
