The Congress on Thursday claimed that RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat’s meeting with the All India Imam was due to the influence of the BJP and asked Bhagwat to walk with Rahul Gandhi in uniting the country “three colors in one hand”.
Going forward with his outreach to the Muslim community, Bhagwat visited a mosque and religious school here on Thursday and had discussions with the head of the All India Imam, who called it ‘rashtra pita’.
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) “sarsanghchalak” went to a mosque at Kasturba Gandhi Marg in Central Delhi and followed him with a visit to the Madarsa Tajweedul Quran in Azadpur North Delhi. An RSS official who accompanied him said this was Bhagwat’s first visit to a school.
In response, the head of Congress’ media department, Pawan Khera, said it had only been 15 days since the commencement of the Bharat Gudu Yatra, and the ruling BJP’s spokesperson Godse Murdabad said ministers had become concerned about the hate. It spread through the media and Bhagwat communicated with the imams.
Speaking to reporters here, Congressional spokesman Gaurav Vallabh echoed similar sentiments and said that the results of the party’s rally are becoming clear within a few days. “It has only been 15 days since the Bharat Jodo Yatra and the results are out. A BJP spokesperson ‘Godse Murdabad’ said on TV. Mohan Bhagwat is going to the home of a person of another faith. Under the influence of who is this happening? This is the effect of the Bharat Jodo Yatra.
He added that the march has concluded and the hatred and divisions created by the government will disappear. “We ask the Bhagwatji that when for a few days the yatra has such an effect on him, he should engage in the Bharat Jodo Yatra for an hour, walk with Rahul Gandhiji in his three-colored hand, and raise the slogan ‘Bharat mata ki’,” said the Congress leader.
