Birmingham: India won its second Commonwealth Games medal after the men’s quartet of men settled for the silver after losing to Northern Ireland in the final here on Saturday. The final score is 18-5 in favor of Northern Ireland.
The Indian team consisted of Sunil Bahadur (chairman), Navneet Singh (second), Chandan Kumar Singh (third) and Dinesh Kumar (skip).
Northern Ireland’s last gold medal returned at the Commonwealth Games in 1998.
India beat hosts England by 13-12 in the semi-finals to secure India at least a silver medal.
It comes after the women’s quartet of Phlei Chobe (top), Pinky (second), Nyanmuni Saikia (third) and Rupa Rani Turki (skip) beat South Africa 17-10 in the women’s four final to give India a historic gold on Tuesday.
