Students of Central Punjab University monitored the proceedings of the National Assembly session. The Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Zahid Akram Durrani welcomed the students to the House. During question period, when Muslim League (N) member Maryam Aurangzeb raised the issue of not having a university in Rawalpindi, Education and Vocational Training Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain said that they are blaming me for the problem of Punjab. The deputy president expressed his anger at the meeting due to the absence of ministers and parliamentary secretaries during the question period. To which the member of the People’s Party Abdul Qadir Patel said that the secretaries of their ministries are also banned from the meeting. The vice president expressed his indignation and suspended the session indefinitely. The number of members at the meeting was much less and the meeting was held without a quorum. Opposition leader Raja Riaz Ahmed did not attend the meeting.
