Kolkata: As the Durga Puja is about to begin, one can smell the scent of Kanz grass in the meadows, foreshadowing the entry of Goddess Durga into the plains from her heavenly abode at Kailash. These days preparations for Durga Puja are in full swing in West Bengal. Durga Puja from Kolkata is world famous.

Every year the comrades of Kolkata bring new unique and innovative puja themes in their own way. From sleepers to Durga Idol, devotees can see the various Durga Pujas in Kolkata. Shree Bhoomi Sports Club, which dazzles the public with its theme every year, has designated the Pooja Pandal theme as “Vatican City” this year.

They are also celebrating the 50-year golden jubilee of Sri Bhoomi Sports Club located in Bidhannar Kolkata. Speaking to ANI, West Bengal Government Fire Minister Sujit Bose and President of Sreebhumi Sports Club said, “Shree Bhoomi Sports Club, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary. This year, this time, Pandal’s theme is St Peters Basilica in Vatican City.

Sujit Bose added that everyone has heard of the Vatican City in Rome, but only a lucky few get to see it by traveling abroad. Their wish to visit Vatican City will be fulfilled through our comrades this year.”
