Shiv Sena (UBT) MLAs were surprised by the blow and their senior leaders like Bhaskar Jadhav and Sunil Prabhu said they had not received any whipping from Gogavale. “We are not worried or scared of the whip…we were not scared when Thackeray’s seat (as chief minister) was taken away after he (Shinde faction) joined the BJP, so we are not scared of this whip,” he said. Why should you care? They are free to publish what they want, we will not follow the whip.
On the first day of the 2023-24 budget session of the Vidhansabha, 16 Thackeray group MPs sat on the opposition benches along with other major opposition parties like Congress, Nationalist Congress Party etc. However, all 12 MLCs in the Legislative Council are with the Shiv Sena (UBT), including Thackeray, who was not present on the first day on Monday.
