RB Leipzig plays Freiburg in the German Cup final after substitute Emil Forsberg gave him a last-gasp goal in their 2-1 home win over Union Berlin on Wednesday, securing them a place in their third final in four years.

Winger Sheraldo Becker gave Union the lead in the 25th minute after receiving a superb pass from Christopher Tremmel and finishing off a superb shot for the first time from inside the penalty area.
Union could have doubled their lead 12 minutes into the second half when Becker crossed in front of goal but Nigerian striker Taiwo Owenyi arrived narrowly behind.
Instead, Leipzig striker Andre Silva equalized with a penalty an hour after Christopher Nkunko’s foul by defender Paul Jekyll and the penalty was awarded after a VAR review.
Leipzig are heading to the May 21 final in Berlin in search of their first major title after losing the 2021 final 4-1 to Borussia Dortmund and losing 3-0 to Bayern Munich in 2019.
