Fatima Jinnah Medical University organized an anti-corruption awareness and character building seminar. President College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan, Professor Dr. Shoaib Shafi attended the discussion as the chief guest.

The main objective of the seminar was to create awareness and eradicate the issue of defamation. In his welcome address, Vice Chancellor Professor Khalid Masood Gondal said that the cooperation of Fatima Jinnah Medical University with NAB has always been very good and we are very grateful for the arrival of Mr. Sajid Sahib, Deputy Director of NAB Lahore.

He said that most people resort to bad titles to fulfill their desires. He revealed that Fatima Jinnah Medical University has been awarded membership of the United Nations Academic Impact among 1500 institutions in 152 countries working together with the United Nations to promote the development of global health. Deputy Director NAB Lahore Muhammad Sajid gave a detailed briefing on the definition and types of corruption, evolution of accountability laws, introduction of NAB, operational procedure of NAB and various related topics.

He said that the services of Fatima Jinnah Medical University in medical education were commendable. He said the recovery in 2021 was 839.175 billion rupiah and the conviction rate in 2021 was 66%.

Former Vice Chancellor Amir Zaman thanked NAB and praised its work since its inception. We hope that in the future Pakistan will be a corruption free country. President College of Physicians and Surgeons, Pakistan Professor Shoaib said that corruption is not only stealing money but shirking one’s responsibilities also falls under the category of corruption.

He told the students to always live honestly. He thanked Vice Chancellor Fatima Jinnah Medical University Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal, Deputy Director of NAB Muhammad Sajid and Faculty of Fatima Jinnah Medical University. A walk to raise awareness against corruption was also organized.
