Gold prices fell sharply in Pakistani markets on Tuesday as the Pakistani rupee showed “backbone” against the US dollar in interbank trading, TV channel 24NewsHD reported.
According to the All Pakistan Jewelers Association, the price of 24-carat gold touched Rs 200,000 per tola after registering a decline of Rs 4,300.
Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 24-carat gold touched Rs 171,468, after registering a decline of Rs 3,686.
The price of 22 carat gold, used for making jewellery, touched Rs 183,271 per tola, after registering a decline of Rs 3,975.
The price of 10 grams of 22 carat gold touched Rs 157,179 after registering a decrease of Rs 3,409.
On the international market, the price of one ounce of gold rose by $1 and was traded at $1,869.
Silver prices in the country also saw a decline as 24 carat silver was trading at Rs 2,230 per tola and Rs 1,911.86 per 10 grams, after registering a decline of Rs 20 and Rs 17.14.
