Pakistan Insaf Movement (PTI) chief Imran Khan addresses a rally in Sialkot hours after the party was forced to change venue following clashes between PTI workers and police and protests from the Christian community, who objected to PTI’s public gathering on church grounds.
The former prime minister said that the movement’s government had never prevented its opponents from marching, but today (Saturday) played a “religious card” to stop the march.
A conspiracy against me [Imran Khan] Behind closed doors.” “They want me dead.”
“I recorded a statement and kept it in a safe place,” Khan added, noting that if anything happened to him the video would be shown.
The former prime minister said I revealed all the names involved in the plot against him.
“Nawaz Sharif fled the country in Bollywood style,” he said.
In the wake of the violent protest, some PTI leaders and activists including Osman Dar were briefly arrested when they tried to go ahead with organizing the rally in the church’s CTI plaza. The public gathering is now being held at the VIP Cricket Ground.
Thus the PTI Chairman urged all party workers to take to the streets across the country and demonstrate against the “imported government” for being outrageous.
Khan had been campaigning since his ouster from the prime minister’s office, which he claimed was a “foreign plot” against his government.
