A delegation of Executive Directors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) met with Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance, in the meeting, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar appreciated the role and cooperation of ADB in promoting sustainable development in Pakistan.
According to the announcement, at the meeting the Minister of Finance informed the delegation about the economic situation of the country and the challenges it is facing and the damages caused by the floods last year.
Speaking on the occasion, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said the government has steered the economy towards stability and growth by taking tough decisions in key sectors, including energy, to reduce budget and current account deficits and increase revenue.
According to the announcement, the Minister of Finance informed the delegation about the negotiations with the IMF mission.
The ADB delegation appreciated the commitment of the Minister of Finance to complete the IMF program and fulfill international obligations for reforms and policy decisions in key economic sectors.
The delegation also discussed climate finance and environmental protection and expressed ADB’s support and cooperation to Pakistan.
