Pune: Pat Cummins of the Kolkata Knight Riders on Wednesday smashed the 50th fastest entrant in Indian Premier League (IPL) history.
Cummins achieved the feat during the standoff against the Indians in Mumbai on Wednesday, at MCA Stadium, Pune. The pacer clocked an astonishing half-century in just 14 balls and equaled the record for KL Rahul, who achieved the same feat in 2018 against the Delhi Capitals.
Help the Cummins KKR destroy half-century defeat MI by five wickets. Aside from Cummins, Venkatesh Iyer also played 50 straight passes from 41 balls, helping KKR chase a 162 goal in just 16 times.
Earlier, a crucial 83-year partnership by Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Pharma MI helped reach 161/4. For KKR, Cummins took two stakes, while Varun Chakaravarthy and Umesh Yadav took one stake each, and with this win, KKR recorded their third win of the IPL 2022.
On the other hand, MI has yet to open their account on the points tally, as they incurred their fourth consecutive loss.
