Ahmednagar : NCP MLA Rohit Pawar has criticized the central government and BJP leaders after conducting a massive vaccination drive against lumpy disease in cattle in his constituency. ‘Leaders who say ‘Godhan dhaar mein’ to set political agenda are not saying a word today when Godhan is in real crisis. For politics, those whose third eye opens momentarily is not yet open,’ Pawar has warned.

The state government has announced free vaccination of all animals in the state. Actually, even before that campaign started, NCP MLA from Karjat-Jamkhed Rohit Pawar has supplied one lakh vaccines for his constituency. So far, 80 percent of the animals have been vaccinated free of charge. Karjat Jamkhed has become the first constituency in Maharashtra where vaccination against this disease is being completed through people’s representatives and without the help of the government. After that, MLA Pawar has targeted the BJP over this. However, he has praised Animal Husbandry Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil.

MLA Rohit Pawar has said that, ‘In the country, 82,000 animals have died of Lumpy disease and lakhs of animals are suffering from Lumpy disease. As the state animal husbandry minister himself is keeping an eye on the caste, there is definitely some relief. The state government is providing Rs 30,000 from its own exchequer as per the NDRF criteria for the dead livestock. But given the seven-year-old criteria and the rising prices of milch animals, it is a fact that the aid is not enough. That is why it is necessary to get additional help,’ Rohit Pawar has demanded.

Meanwhile, if the central government declares lumpy disease as an epidemic, help can be provided through disaster relief and rehabilitation. If this happens, the farmers can get a total of Rs 60,000 from the state government and Rs 30,000 from the central government. The state government should immediately follow up with the center in this regard. Leaders who say ‘Godhan Haare Mein’ to set political agenda are not saying a word today when Godhan is in real crisis. For politics, the third eye that opens momentarily is not yet open. Tolahi MLA Pawar has asserted that if the cheetahs are on the move, there is no problem in the national media focusing on Lumpy.
