39 days have passed since Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis were sworn in as the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister respectively on June 30, but expansion has been stalled. Both of them visited Delhi many times for cabinet expansion, but still they did not get the green light from the BJP party leadership. Due to the ongoing hearing in the Supreme Court regarding the power struggle in the state, there was talk of uncertainty about the cabinet expansion. Therefore, Congress and NCP along with the opposition party Shiv Sena started criticizing the Shinde government. In this background, after 39 days of waiting, the expansion of the Cabinet of Ministers will take place on Tuesday at 11 am.
The swearing-in ceremony will take place in the Durbar Hall of the Raj Bhavan. Keeping in view the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, BJP has made a lot of fuss about the list of ministers and decided the names. Accordingly, it is learned that BJP state president Chandrakant Patil, Sudhir Mungantiwar, Girish Mahajan, Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, Babanrao Lonikar will be included in the cabinet from BJP. Apart from this, the names of Sanjay Kute, Ravindra Chavan, Devyani Farande are also discussed. Eknath Shinde has been supported by 39 MLAs of Shiv Sena. It includes seven former ministers. Therefore, it is being said that Dadaji Bhuse, Gulabrao Patil, Uday Samant, Sandipan Bhumre, Sanjay Rathod will be sworn in as ministers. Apart from this, Shambhuraj Desai, Tanaji Sawant, Sanjay Shirsat are also expected to get a chance in the first phase.
A potential minister
BJP: Chandrakant Patil, Sudhir Mungantiwar, Girish Mahajan, Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, Sambhaji Nilangekar Patil, Subhash Deshmukh, Ravindra Chavan, Suresh Khade, Madhuri Misal, Ashok Uike.
Shinde Group: Dada Bhuse, Gulabrao Patil, Uday Samant, Sandeepan Bhumre, Sanjay Rathod, Shambhuraj Desai, Deepak Kesarkar, Tanaji Sawant, Sanjay Shirsat
The expansion of the cabinet was delayed due to the ongoing hearings in the court and also due to the rift in some departments. The Shinde group wanted home accounts. But, BJP was stuck for home affairs. Therefore, the crisis of cabinet expansion was not resolved. After all, Shinde took two steps back and gave the home and finance portfolios to the BJP, so it is believed that the way for the expansion of the cabinet has been cleared. However, the efforts of the Shinde group are continuing till the last moment, and it is understood that it will be dawn on Wednesday to know who exactly will get which accounts.
State president for Shelar?
It is learned that Ashish Shelar will not get a chance in the first phase of cabinet expansion, but he will be entrusted with the responsibility of BJP’s state president. As an aggressive face to defeat the Shiv Sena in the upcoming Mumbai Municipal Elections, it is believed that Ashish Shelar will be given the responsibility of regional president.
