MumbaiLeader of the Opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Ajit Pawar on Friday demanded immediate holding of the long-running civic elections in the state. It may be noted that elections to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), other municipal corporations and local bodies in the state have been pending for the past few months.
Initiating a discussion in the Assembly on the issues of urban development, housing, public health and medical education, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader alleged that the delay was being done so that the state government could interfere in the local bodies through administrators. for this loss of crores of rupees is made.
