Murbad: The number of deaths due to balancing on a hill while trying to take a selfie is increasing day by day. Without learning anything from such incidents, youngsters often try to take photos by going to the top of the hill without any hesitation. But it is time for them to lose their lives without any care. A similar incident has taken place in Murbad in Thane district. A 17-year-old girl named Damini Dnyaneshwar Dinkarrao died after falling into a deep valley while taking a selfie on the fort. The incident took place at Gorakhgad in Murbad.

Damini lives in Umbrai village in Shahapur taluka. She had gone to Gorakhgad in Murbad taluka with some of her friends around noon. At that time, she was taking selfies in her mobile at a place on the fort. At the same time, while standing on the side of the valley, while taking a selfie in her mobile, she lost her balance and fell into the valley from the fort.

Upon learning of the incident, Murbad police, Shahapur group of lifeguards and local Dehri villagers launched a search operation in the valley. The search for the girl continued till late at night. Murbad police inspector Prasad Pandhare informed that the body of the girl has been found and the work of exhumation is underway.
