ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday formally awarded party ticket to Ali Asghar to file his candidature for NA-16 Abbottabad-1 through poll.
Despite the judgment of the Lahore High Court (LHC), which suspended the ECP’s notification accepting the resignation of PTI’s National Assembly members, the situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is not clear and the PTI has formally awarded its ticket to candidates who compete in the additional elections.
On the other hand, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) candidate Salim Shah and Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) candidate Haji Mahabat Awan asked the district election commission to withdraw their nomination papers filed for the said constituency.
PTI’s nominated candidate for NA-16 Abbottabad-1 started his election campaign for the by-election where he was joined by local party leaders and workers.
