There was not even a trace of the usual jubilation and sloganeering at the swearing-in ceremony of the ministers at the Raj Bhavan. There was only occasional applause. The exuberant atmosphere was lost due to the long delay in the expansion and the resulting lack of interest, with limited access to it.

The swearing-in ceremony was scheduled to begin at 11 am, but the ceremony was delayed by 15 minutes. As the names of 9 BJP ministers came from the media, the curiosity about it was over. However, attention was paid to who would become the minister from the Chief Minister Shinde group.

Union Minister of State Raosaheb Danve, Ramdas Athawale, Dr. Bhagwat Karad, BJP in-charge C. T. Ravi, National General Secretary Vinod Tawde, Leader of Opposition Ajit Pawar, Shiv Sena’s Shinde faction Rahul Shewale along with some other MPs, former Union Minister of State Anandrao Adsul and other dignitaries were present.

Around 10:30, the names of the Shinde group ministers were pasted on the chairs on the platform, and the picture became clear. Ministers often miss words or stumble while taking the oath. That did not happen to any minister today. Everyone avoided even mentioning places of worship.

After each minister took the oath and shook hands with the governor, first Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on his right hand and then Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on his left hand, while the ministers were shaking hands, Fadnavis gestured to the ministers saying ‘Chief Minister first’.

Suresh Khade’s 97-year-old mother attended the swearing-in ceremony. Devendra Fadnavis bowed to him. Abdul Sattar looked at everyone in the hall and folded his hands in salutation. Laughter broke out when he looked at Leader of Opposition Ajit Pawar and said Dada !Tumha special…

Each minister was coming to Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari after taking oath. Good luck Governor!, Congratulations! Saying this, they were boosting each other’s enthusiasm. When the minister got his hand, he was instructing him to immediately look at the photographer.
