HMD Global, the company that makes Nokia phones and tablets, unveiled its new G22 smartphone in Barcelona on Saturday designed to be easily repaired by users themselves, TV channel 24newsHD reported.

The new Nokia G 22 phone offers up to three days of battery life as part of HMD Global’s commitment to creating devices that last longer.

HMD Global produced the smartphone in partnership with iFixit, one of the first budget Android smartphones that allows users to replace the battery in less than five minutes. This means that the Nokia G22 has a removable back and an internal design that allows for easy unscrewing and replacement of components, including the battery, display and charging port.

The G22 is partially made from recycled plastic and has a 6.53-inch screen, a large capacity battery, a 50-megapixel camera and a fingerprint scanner. It runs Android 12 and will be supported for three years of monthly security updates and two major Android version upgrades.

The Nokia G22 will cost £149.99 delivered on March 8, with replacement parts costing £18.99
