According to unofficial results, the Pakistan People’s Party won the largest number of union council seats in the AJK local government elections after winning 39 out of 142 seats, TV channel 24NewsHD reported on Monday.
Unofficial results showed PPP leading the race by grabbing 39 UC seats, followed by PTI and PML-N winning 36 seats each. Independents won 26 seats in the UC, while Muslim Conference scored 4 seats and Tehreek-i-Labaik Pakistan won one seat.
According to the unofficial results of the district council elections, PTI won 9 seats out of 21 seats, followed by PPP and independents who won 4 seats. PML-N got 3 seats and MC got 1 seat.
According to the unofficial municipal corporation election results, the PML-N was leading the race after winning 12 seats out of a total of 36 seats. PTI won 8 seats, PPP won 7 seats, independents secured 7 seats and MC won 2 seats.
Out of a total of two seats for member of the municipal committee, PML-N and PTI won 1 seat each.
And out of total 4 city committee member seats, PML-N secured 3 seats while PTI could take 1 seat.
According to the previous unofficial results, in Nellum district, out of 15 seats in UC, PTI won 7 seats. People’s Party won 3, PML-N won 2, while independents won 2 seats. The result of one seat was still awaited.
In Jhelum district valley, PTI won 10 union council seats out of total 18. PPP won 3 and PML-N won 5 seats.
In Muzaffarabad district, PPP won the highest number of seats as it had 17 seats out of 41 seats, followed by PTI which could bag 16 seats. While PML-N won 2 seats, Muslim Conference got 3 seats and independent candidates secured 2 seats.
The result of a union council was yet to be received.
