Producers’ Ideas to Attract Audiences to Cinemas! – the producer decided to reduce the ticket price of the movie MIGMG News

Mumbai: A film starring Karthik Aryan and Kiara Advani was released last week. While the original film was well received by the audience, the audience was curious about the sequel. Producers have slashed direct ticket prices to attract more audiences. Karthik-Kiara’s ticket prices are 20 to 30 per cent lower than those of ‘Doctor Strange’, ‘RRR’ and ‘KGF 2’ which have been released in the last few months. The films ‘Bachchan Pandey’, ‘Runway 34’, ‘Hiropanti 2’ and ‘Jersey’ did not get the expected response from the audience.

The acclaimed Hindi films did not do well at the box office. If you look at the reasons for this, there are many reasons like the story that is not very breathtaking, the stubbornness to remake it even though the original hit movie is available on OTT, the increased cost of watching the movie. So the audience goes to the cinemas just to see the movies of choice. For some films, they even consider OTT as an option. The films ‘Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui’, ‘Antim’, ‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’ and ‘Satyamev Jayate 2’ released before the third wave of Corona did not do well at the box office. So in order to draw audiences back to the cinemas and compete with Southern films, the producers have now opted for a reduction in ticket prices.

Expect audience growth
Cinematographer Girish Johar says, “Young people flock to see the movie which is in the news among the youth.” Using the popularity of the film, a strategy has been devised to bring more audiences to the theaters. As a result, producers of recently released Hindi films have reduced ticket prices by 20 to 30 per cent. About one lakh tickets for this movie were booked in advance.

Commenting on the decision to reduce ticket prices for movies, Yogesh Raijada, Vice President, Web Cinema, said, If the movie does not run, its rates are reduced on Monday. Medium budget movies have lower rates than big budget movies. If a movie runs, the cinematographers increase its rates, if it runs less, they lower the rates. This decision is entirely up to the cinema director. ‘

Will the decision be the savior?
Producers are paying close attention to the response to the ticket price cut experiment. If the experiment is successful, medium-budget and small-scale filmmakers can follow suit and compete with Southern and Hollywood films by lowering ticket prices. Hindi films get good business in big cities like Mumbai, Pune, Delhi. However, considering the lead taken by Marathi cinema at the box office in the last few months in the state, the answer to how successful the decision to reduce the ticket price is will be found in the next few days.
