Radical preacher Amritpal Singh’s aide and kidnap accused Lovepreet Singh walked out of Amritsar jail on Friday, hours after an Ainala court ordered his release based on a police request.
The development came a day after supporters of preacher and Khalistan sympathizer Amrital Singh stormed the Ainala police station demanding the release of his aide.
On Friday, there was heavy security at the police station and in Ajnala town. On Thursday, supporters of Amritpal Singh, some of them brandishing swords and guns, broke through the barricades and stormed into the police station compound.
Supporters stormed a police station on the outskirts of Amritsar city demanding the release of Lovepreet Singh alias Tofan, an accused in the kidnapping case.
