Milk will now be provided two days a week for children from grades 1 to 8 in Rajasthan government schools. The government hopes that this initiative will increase the nutritional level of children and increase their enrollment in government schools, according to an official statement. Prime Minister Ashok Jahlot has announced in the budget that children from grades 1 to 8 will now have milk two days a week under the ‘Mukhyamantri Bal Gopal Yojana’. It will be implemented in public schools, religious schools and private training centers associated with the midday meal system.

Under the scheme, about 69.21 thousand children studying in government schools will be provided with milk prepared from milk powder on Tuesday and Friday, Chief Secretary for Education (Education) Pawan Kumar Goyal said. If these days are off days, milk will be provided on the next academic day. Kids in grades 1 through 5 will get 150ml of milk and classes 6 through 8 get 200ml, Ho Siad. Goyal informs that powdered milk will be purchased from Rajasthan Dairy Co-operative.
