The restrictions were imposed after two days of clashes between PTI supporters and law enforcement personnel, Zora reported. Footage or images are said to have been seen on television without any editorial oversight during the recent clash between political party workers and law enforcement agencies in Lahore, in which violent mobs used petrol bombs, injuring policemen and constables. The vehicles were set on fire.
It added that the live broadcast of such footage on various satellite TV channels created chaos and panic among viewers and the police. According to Zora news, such mob activism not only threatens the law and order situation but also makes public properties unsafe.
