Minister of State Bharne was speaking at a meeting held in the hall of the ministry regarding the pending demands of the shepherds. The meeting was attended by Kalyan Kumar, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Nagpur, Manik Gutte, Joint Secretary, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development, and other important officials.
Complaints of conflict between the shepherd and the forest department are frequent. In view of this, the government has banned herdsmen from grazing in the forest area, but the government has encouraged herdsmen to be confined or semi-enclosed sheep farms. Minister of State Bharne instructed in the meeting that a plan should be proposed for giving.
The scope of livestock insurance offered to shepherds will be increased
Minister of State Bharne said, “A meeting will be held soon to decide on the scope of livestock insurance schemes to be given to the shepherds. Departmental workshops will be organized soon to know the schemes implemented by the government for the shepherds. .
At present there are mobile veterinary clinics in 73 talukas of the state. The government is planning to increase this facility in 80 talukas soon. Shepherds should take advantage of the toll free number 1962 for mobile veterinary clinics. This was stated by Minister of State Bharne in the meeting.
