Six women voters were killed when the jeep they were traveling in from a polling station went out of control and fell into a ravine in Azad Kashmir’s Neelum Valley on Sunday, TV channel 24NewsHD reported.
In the accident that happened near Dodnjal, five people were injured, including three women. The injured were transferred to BHU for medical treatment.
Voting at polling station number 07 and 08 in Beesianwali in Dodnia was temporarily suspended after the accident.
The deceased women had given their voice and were returning home when the tragedy happened.
The dead women have been identified as Shamim Bibi, Zaiwar Jan, widow Amin Malik, Altaf Jan, Bibi Gudi and Rani Bibi.
The injured have been named as Walayat Bibi, Sobia Bibi, Habib Jan, driver Fida Hussain and Muhammad Bashir.
It may be mentioned here that polls for local bodies are being held today across Azad Kashmir.
