Former Prime Minister Imran Khan said many people have become aware of the grave injustices of the US war on terror.

In his tweet, Imran Khan said Ahmed Rabbani and his brother are returning home after serving 20 years in prison at Guantanamo Bay.

The PTI chairman said that I raised my voice as Prime Minister about his extradition to America, his wrongful imprisonment and his release.

Imran Khan further said that many people like him have become aware of the grave injustices of the US war on terror.

Who is Ahmed Rabbani?

According to a VOA report, Muhammad Ahmed Ghulam Rabbani and Abdul Rahim Ghulam Rabbani were detained in Karachi in 2002, after which they were transferred to Afghanistan, and then in 2004, the two brothers were sent to Guantanamo Bay.

At that time Abdul Rahim Ghulam Rabbani is 55 years old, while Muhammad Ahmed Ghulam Rabbani is 53 years old.

Both were accused of working for the alleged mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, and providing safe havens to al-Qaeda terrorists in Pakistan.

American investigative agencies found out many years ago that these two brothers were neither part of any terrorist operation by al-Qaeda, nor knew any of their plans, yet both were in prison for more than 21 years.
