The Union Cabinet on Friday approved providing foolproof security to the England cricket team during their tour of Pakistan, TV channel 24NewsHD reported.
A cabinet meeting held to review security arrangements for the upcoming visit of the England cricket team also approved the deployment of Pakistan Army, Rangers and other police for the security of the guests.
England cricket team will visit Pakistan from November 27 to December 22, 2022.
The Cabinet issued directions to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Home Departments of Punjab and Sindh Provinces, Pakistan Army, Punjab Rangers and Army Air Force to provide security to the British team.
As per the schedule, the England cricket team will stay in Islamabad from November 27 to December 5 to play the first Test match to be played in Rawalpindi. Also, the English cricket team will stay in Multan from December 6 to 13 to play the second Test match. The England cricket team will stay in Karachi from December 14 to 22 to play the third Test match against Pakistan.
Law enforcement agencies will maintain full security to ensure security for the visiting team visiting Pakistan after an interval of 17 years.
