The Punjab government on Monday distributed compensation checks among those injured in the Wazirabad firing incident, TV channel 24NewsHD reported.
Areb Shakeel 13 and Liaqat Mehar were given checks of Rs 2.5 million each. Former District Nazim Gujranwala Fayaz Chatta handed over the checks on behalf of the Punjab government.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the Tehreek-e-Insaf government was providing free treatment to the injured.
Shakeel, the father of the injured Areb thanked the government for providing assistance.
Liaquat Mehr, thanking the government, said that Tehreek-e-Insaf is the true representative of the people. The Punjab government and PTI are the voice of the poor and downtrodden, he added. Reporter: Nayar Alam
