Two children were killed and three others injured when a gas explosion rocked a house in Taxila on Thursday morning, TV channel 24NewsHD reported.

Among the injured is another child, their mother and an elder of the family.

The explosion happened when a family member tried to start a fire in the morning.

Rescue firefighting tenders and an ambulance participated in the rescue operation and the injured were transferred to the hospital for treatment.

The dead children have been identified as four-year-old Saudai and five-year-old Awais.

Earlier, four children of a family were killed in an explosion caused by a gas leak in Quetta’s Harotabad area on Wednesday. Two women also sustained injuries in the incident that took place in Karotabad’s Badezai town.

In another gas leak explosion in Bolan town of Quetta’s Sariab district on Tuesday evening, Sub-Inspector Shabbir Hussain Gujjar of Shalkot police station was killed in a gas leak explosion.

In a similar incident on Tuesday, four persons choked to death in Quetta’s Jan Mohammad Road area.

The incident occurred due to a gas leak that filled the room where the four were sleeping, causing their death. The dead bodies were taken to the Civil Hospital.
