Security forces killed two LTTE militants in Mashkai district of Balochistan in an operation that also led to the martyrdom of two soldiers, the media wing of the Pakistan Army, Inter Services, said on Friday.
The security forces carried out a raid on Thursday night, after receiving intelligence information about the “presence of terrorists in the entire Sinji area, near Mashkai, Baluchistan.”
“As soon as the forces began establishing closure positions in the area, the terrorists tried to escape from their hideout and opened fire on the security forces,” the institute’s statement read.
“Two terrorists belong to BLF [were] They were killed in a heavy exchange of fire that followed. [They] Involved in various security incidents in and around Awaran.
During the operation, Lance Havaldar Raj Wali Khan and Siboy Osama Khan Shahadat hugged while one officer was injured, ISPR reported.
The media wing of the army said that BLF terrorists were planning to carry out attacks in the area and a cache of weapons and ammunition was found with them.
The institute said that the security forces remain determined to thwart attempts to sabotage peace, stability and progress in Balochistan.
Mashkai is Tehsil in Awaran district of Balochistan, which is one of the worst militarized areas of the province.
