According to initial information, 3 workers died on the spot, and a large number were injured. But this number is expected to increase.
According to the received information, 27 workers were buried under the roof of the refrigerator. Initially, the police and local people started a rescue operation at their level and many people were pulled out from the rubble and taken to the hospital. Later the NDRF team reached and took charge. It is reported that all those buried in the ruins have been taken out.
Earlier, immediately after receiving information about the incident, DM, SSP, ADM City Magistrate, SDM, CMO and SP City of Meerut along with police from several police stations arrived at the scene. At the same time the Commissioner of Meerut Zone also arrived at the spot. Dozens of ambulances that arrived at the scene took out the buried workers and took them to the hospital. The rescue work is still going on. By removing the rubble by placing JCB machines, it is seen if any workers are still trapped.
