New Delhi: A new variant of Corona ‘XE’ has appeared and its first case has been found in Mumbai, India. According to media reports, the XE is a sub-variant of the Corona’s Omekron variant, but it could be the deadliest Corona variant ever found.
The World Health Organization (WHO) says that the ‘XE’ variant is up to 10% more contagious than the Omicron sub variant BA2. XE mutations are currently being identified as part of the Omicron variant, according to the WHO. Symptoms of omecron include fever, sore throat, cold-cough and skin irritation.
The first case of XE was reported in the UK on 19 January 2022 and about 637 cases have been reported so far. A 50-year-old woman in Mumbai, India, has been found to be affected by the variant and has recently returned from South Africa.
The UK health agency is demanding three types of Corona, XD, XE and XF. XDBA.1 is a subtype of the Omicron variant and is a combination of XF Delta and BA1. The report quotes Susan Hopkins, chief medical officer of the UK’s Health Security Agency (UKHSA), as saying that such a variant is known as recombinant and is usually premature. Are over.
XE variant cases have also been found in Thailand and New Zealand. The World Health Organization says research data is needed before we can say more about the mutation. The agency added that there was no strong evidence that X-ray symptoms were more serious and that patients with all sub-variants of the Omecron variant still had mild symptoms.
