Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday launched a scathing attack on the Narendra Modi government over the Adani issue as he underlined that he and his party will continue to raise issues of national interest until the truth comes out.

Addressing the 85th plenary session of the Congress in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, Rahul Gandhi reminded the audience that the battle for the country’s freedom was fought against one company (the British East India Company) because it had usurped all the wealth and seaports of the country then.

The former Congress president urged the party to formulate a new plan to convey the message and spirit of Bharat Jodo Yatra and that he along with the entire country would participate in it.

He pointed out how major parts of his speech in the Lok Sabha were deleted when he asked the Prime Minister uncomfortable questions about the incredible rise of the Adani Group within a few years and disappointed BJP leaders who came out in support of the industrialist in Parliament. .

“When we asked in the parliament what the prime minister’s relationship is with Adani, our entire speech was deleted. We will ask thousands of times in the parliament until the truth about Adani.ji is out, we will not stop,” he said amid applause.

“I want to tell Adani that his company is harming the country and grabbing the entire infrastructure of the country,” Gandhi said.

“The battle for the country’s freedom was against one company (the British East India Company) because it took away all the wealth and ports etc,” he said.

“History repeats itself. This is against the interest of the country and if this happens the entire Congress party will stand against it,” he said.

He also said the party would continue to raise questions about the relationship between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Adani.

American investment research firm Hindenburg Research has made a series of allegations against the Adani Group, which include fraudulent transactions and manipulation of share prices through foreign companies.

The Adani Group claims the allegations are baseless, but is yet to clear the entire controversy. Nor did the Group sue Hindenburg Research even a month after they dared the Adanis to sue it in a US court.
