Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A woman delivered her baby in an auto-rickshaw in the hospital campus in the absence of a ward boy to receive the patient.

The woman was in great pain. However, when her car reached the hospital, there was no staff to receive her, alleged auto driver Madan Solanki. Wasting no time, Solanki drove the rickshaw to the hospital where the nurses and staff took the patient to the hospital.

“I have come to drop Asha Kadam, a resident of Damodar Nagar, at the hospital. She was in labor and there was no boy from the ward so I had to drive the vehicle to the hospital,” he said.

The hospital claims no negligence on their part

However, hospital staff denied the claims and said the woman could not reach the hospital in time and the baby’s head was already out. Because of this, the staff helped her give birth in the car, and later they transferred her to the delivery room.

“The twenty-five-year-old woman was late getting to the hospital. The driver of the car drove to the delivery room after the staff helped the patient give birth in the vehicle to save time. Both mother and baby are safe and healthy”, Dr. – said Pradeep Goyal.

He added that there was no negligence on the part of the hospital and gave a written statement in this regard.
