Last month, Xiaomi took the wraps off its latest 12S smartphone series and a new laptop series called the Book Pro 2022. Two of the laptops coming in this series had processors from Intel, however, today the company informed that another new model called Xiaomi Book Pro 14 AMD Ryzen Edition will be added to the lineup on Monday.
Xiaomi has announced that the upcoming Xiaomi Book Pro 14 AMD Ryzen Edition laptop will be officially launched in the Chinese market on August 8. Apart from revealing the launch date, the company today confirmed several key specifications of the laptop in a teaser poster. From what is known, it will be powered by Ryzen 6000H (Ryzen 6000H) processor and will come with an OLED touch-display.
According to the teaser poster posted by Xiaomi, the new Xiaomi Book 14 AMD Ryzen Edition laptop will have the same design as the Xiaomi Book Pro Intel Core Edition launched in July. It will come with an aviation-grade aluminum alloy body crafted using a high-end CNC integrated engraving process. Apart from this, the weight may be similar to the current Book Pro Laptop Intel Edition i.e. 1.5 kg.
The only difference between the existing Intel Edition and the upcoming AMD Edition models of the Xiaomi Book Pro 2022 lineup will be their processor versions. That is, the two models that arrived last month used the Intel Core i5 (i5) chipset. And the upcoming laptop will be powered by AMD Ryzen 6000H processor. Furthermore, the Xiaomi Book Pro AMD Ryzen Edition laptop is expected to have a Thunderbolt 4 interface. In addition, like the Intel Core Edition, this new laptop will also offer 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512 GB of PCIe 4.0 SSD storage.
The upcoming Xiaomi Book Pro 14 AMD Ryzen Edition laptop is likely to feature a 14-inch 2.8K (2.8K) OLED screen, which will support a 90 Hz refresh rate, 600 nits peak brightness and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage. The display is also expected to be touch-enabled. Also, the notebook can be equipped with a pressure-sensitive touchpad and a built-in linear motor.
Incidentally, the laptop in question can be sold with a price tag of around $900 (roughly Rs. 71,500 at Indian prices). In this regard, Xiaomi has currently decided to launch their laptop version with this AMD chipset in the Chinese market. However, there is no confirmation about the availability of the device in the Indian market or globally yet.
